What Causes Itchy Bumps On The Ankles?

Hello, About 2 months ago I moved into a new home and began getting what I perceived to be bug bites almost immediately. The house has been bombed and I have seen no sign of bed bugs, no tunnels under my skin from dust mites, or really any other signs of the common bug related rashes etc. The bumps are small, red, slightly raised, and primarily located around my ankles (although they have occasionally appeared on my thighs and soles of my feet). They itch badly at first, swell quite a bit and are painful. I have even had bruising appear around them. Recently I have noticed the individual bites are spreading slightly from the center out in a light pinkish rash. It has been brought to my attention this could be ringworm...any help would be appreciated.

The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is tinea pedis which is a fungal infection. You must avoid heat and humidity as well as occlusive footwear. Change your socks regularly. Antifungal powder may be sprayed inside your socks before you go out. Topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole can be used along with oral antifungals like fluconazole after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
