What Causes Itchy And Swollen Rashes All Over The Body?

Have a rash that has spread all over my body.I was removing carpet out if the house and now I have this rash it started on my arms and has spread. Its itchy and my hands have kinda been swelling and when I touch things that are warm they are very hot feeling. I have been taking benadryl and it is not helping.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain itchy rashes and swollen area or hives that has appeared suddenly and spreading seems to be due to allergic reaction to any bug bite or can also be due to exposure to any unknown allergen..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and along with a thorough clinical evalutaion he can also advise you allergic testing like Patch test , RAST test etc to rule out for the exact cause of allergen and avoiding exposure to it can prevent the reaction..

In case if allergic reaction is confirmed as the cause he can advise you anti-allergic medications like Allegra or Levocetrizine and also injectable anti allergics and oral and injectable steroids..

Application of steroid ointment can also relieve..
Doing cool compresses and application of calamine lotion can also relieve..
Avoid scratching the lesion to prevent infection..
