What Causes Itching Sensation In Vagina During Periods?

Hi, each month before my period arrives I have an itchy bottom for four or five days beforehand. It s only itchy in the evening and at night and is always fine when I wake up in the morning and throughout the day. This month it has been quite uncomfortable. What might cause this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to yeast infection. Using anti fungal agents like Clotrimazole cream for local application will be helpful for this. This is available as over the counter in brands like monistat. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area and instead you can use saline or warm water. Using intimate wash daily is also good to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH. Use mild detergents for washing under garments also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
