What Causes Itching, Redness And Slight Bleeding In Vagina?

Hi there. i have been experiencing this intense itching redness and tenderness along the outside of my vagina. i have not been sexually active in over a year. i do masturbate but it tends to bother me afterwards. it seems to happen either right before my period or right after. i thought maybe it was due to shaving and i went to a gyno and they said that i might be sensitive to my shavning products or soaps.. but i have since then changed laundry soap and i refrain from using soaps down there. i figure maybe it might be hormonal.. but there is a bit of bleeding and i dont know if its from dryness or anything. i will be going to a doctor soon but in the meantime i wanted to see what you guys thought since the last time they just said it was my soaps. thanks for your time!

Hi ,
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

from your description your problem seems to be related with skin allergy due to cosmetics or soap etc and it needs some time to get back to normal

Follow these instruction
- have sitz bath [sitting in warm (not hot) water ] for 10 to 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times daily. The water may contain epsom salts or table salt
-u may use topical antibiotic cream would reduce the chance of infection.
-A mild topical steroid cream would reduce the inflammation and help with the itching , along with this u may also use xylocain gel to numb the burn sensation and get quick relief

Along with these you should wear loose clothing made up of cotton , avoid wearing underwear during night sleep , allow more air to the burn area to get fast healing
It may take up to a week for almost complete resolution

however your medical history can be suggestive of many other possible conditions including an yeast infection , bacterial vaginosis , an STD etc and it needs thorough medical check up and investigations to spot a confirm diagnosis

so if your symptoms do not improve over 2-3 days then i would strongly recommend to visit your Gynecologist to get it evaluated further

I hope it help
