What Causes Itching Inside The Scrotum And Treatment With Tinactin Has Not Helped?

Hi, I have an itch INSIDE my scrotum, I repeat INSIDE my scrotum, not ON the outer skin, for several years now. Recently I treated it with Tinactin which I ve used in the past for jock itch. It has worked in the past but did not work or improve after using the Tinactin for 3 weeks this time. I only tried the Tinactin out of desperation because I thought maybe the fungus got deeper in the skin but as expected it had no effect. At its best I might feel the itchy sensation every couple of days for a few seconds or minutes or at its worst several times a day but only for a very small bit of time as I described. I get relief by pinching the skin of the scrotum because you can t scratch inside the scrotum of course and it works. I am not experiencing any jock itch or fungal skin infection symptoms on the outer skin right now and I know what that s like due to past experience so is the fungal infection inside now or is it something else? I have not been active sexually for 6 years, nothing, other than masturbation.I am 59.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be tinea cruris most probably.

Consult the dermatologist for the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would recommend...

- Tab cetirizine 10 mg daily
- Cap itroconazole 100 mg daily
- luliconazole cream
- bath in dettol mixed water
- improve hygiene
- keep area dry

Hope this helps.
