What Causes Itching In Corner Of Both Eyes?

Hello, I am 19 years old, male! The area in the corners of both eyes around the "caruncula lacrimalis" itches! The skin at the level of the palpebres also itches a lot. My ophthalmologist said it is blepharitis, but I am not very sure because except of my medial angles of the eyes, the other part of the eyelids does not itch! I've used cortico-steroids and I noticed not any change! What might my problem be? Thank you.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having itching in both the eyes in the corners involving the caruncula.
This can be because of carunculitis or angular conjunctivitis. The treatment is by use of steroids and anti-inflammatory drugs. As these diseases tend to run a long course you need to continue the treatment for 3-4 weeks before you see improvement and later the treatment needs to be tapered slowly.

Thank you
