What Causes Itching In Body While On Antibiotics For A Boil On Buttocks?

I m almost done with my antibiotics for a boil on my right buttock and I think I ve developed a yeast infection. I ve also started to itch all over my arms, chest, neck, and head. Could this be an allergic reaction? I ve been taking SMZ-TMP DS 800-160 mg twice a day.

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I think your assumption is correct, it could well be due to an allergic reaction. So I would interrupt SMZ-TMP for the moment and contact the doctor who prescribed it to inform him/her and discuss the necessity of an alternative treatment.
