What Causes Itching And Vaginal Discharge With Foul Smell?

I have been having itching irritation and and heavy discharge that look brownish yellow and over the last month i started to have foul odour. I have been taking over the counter drugs for yeast infection. It work while I used them but as soon as I finish using them all the symptom comes back within days. I went to the doctor and she said I have trichomonas I used the medication she prescribe and my symptoms stop. I finish using the medication on Thursday and had protected sex the following day. I am scared it might return since my partner is still using is medication .Should I have waited longer before I have sex?

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be bacterial vaginosis or persisting trichomoniasis.So it is better to have a pelvic examination and swab again to rule out that. You should also avoid intercourse till the end of your antibiotic course. Usually I advise antibiotics like tinidazole for this for both partners. I also advise to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent from getting further infections. Hope this may help you.
