Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for writing to us.
According to your description , pain and swelling over her wrist seems to be inflammatory in nature.
I advice her to give rest to the part affected, take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin(dose acc. to age) to reduce pain and inflammation and consult your doctor for thorough examination of wrist and rule out any infective cause.
Hope this helps you. You can consult me again directly through my profile http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-saurabh-gupta/64132
