Hi, My labia major have recently become very itchy. Today I noticed redness and medium sized bumps forming--Im not sure if the redness and bumps are from me scratching myself....There are no pustules, but I m worried that I might have contracted herpes....Thanks!
Usually hepatic lesions will present like vesicles in crops and later will be converted into ulcers.
According to your description it is not likely a typical appearance of herpes. The other possible causes are folliculitis due to scratching, irritation due to the personal hygiene materials, tight undergarments, hair removal measures, etc.
But by direct examination only the exact cause of the problem can be identified. So, if the symptoms persist or increase in severity and associated symptoms like fever, malaise, etc.
Develop better to consult your gynecologist once and get examined. According to that the treatment can be planned.
The general measures that may help you are, avoiding tight inner garments, breaking the itch- scratch cycle, as it will increase the severity of the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
