What Causes Itching After Taking A Shower?

After taking a shower or sweating I become very itchy. I have tried changing laundry soap, bath soap and stopped drinking caffeine. This has been going on for a year and the only thing I have found to help after a shower is to pat myself dry instead of rubbing the towel over me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to dermatitis.
Some advice that I can give you are:

1) Take antihistamine like Cetirizine 10 mg orally.
2) Use a calamine lotion or Cortisone cream to relieve itching.
3) Take prescription corticosteroid, if you don't have relief.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other questions, Ill be glad to help.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
