What Causes Itchiness In The Left Hand And Lower Back After Using Amox-Clav?

I have taken 2 doses of Amos-Clav, 875 mg tablets, the first was last night & then again this AM. I woke up with mild itching on my left hand. Now both my left and right arms itch, along with the back of my neck & my lower back. Otherwise I feel fine. I am putting ice on the itchy areas in an effort to stop, I have had a few tiny pin-point blisters on my left hand and arm. I assume I m having a drug reaction. I m supposed to have a septoplasty tomorrow AM. Any thoughts? Thank you,Lisa Strom

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be due to allergic eruption. As of now you can take antihistamines like pheneramine for symptomatic relief, you can apply low potency steroid like betamethasone also.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
