What Causes Ischemia?

My tmt test of 9.2.2017 was mildly positive for inducible ischemia.Kindly advise me what it means and my ECG and Echo of 14.07.2017 is normal. My cordiolagist gave me some medication for a week and advised me if I continue to get discomfort in the chest and pain in the left hand and breath less ness I may have to go for angiograpy. But after taking medicine for the last 4 days I feel little better. So is it necessary to go for angiograpy to know the exact condition of the heart. However in the year 2005 I have done angioplasty and 2 stints have been incerted into my arteries. BASHIR MULGUND

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
TMT (trade mill test) is screening tool for coronary artery disease (CAD).
If TMT is positive for ischemia then coronary angiography is the next step to confirm CAD.
Since you had angioplasty in 2004, there is always risk for restenosis of Stents.
So better to get done angiography first.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
