What Causes Irritating Lumps On The Scrotum?

Hi, I recently (as of 2 days ago) developed these small, reddish bumps only on my scrotum. At first I thought they were hair follicles, but there s no hair on them. They don t hurt, but do get a little irritated when they come in contact with anything (my boxer briefs usually). I m 17 years old and have been sexually active but all protected and with one partner. Any idea what it could be, should i be worried, and how can I treat it?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
The appearance of red spots on scroatal skin not having hair follicles in them can be due to some form of Dermatitis, mostly due to retailed soap or shampoo or deodorants used.
I would advise you to take antihistamines tablets to counteract this.
Consult your family physician to clinical examination, treatment and referral to Dermatologist if required.
Till then clean the area with plain water, keep dry and apply liquid povidone iodine to sterilize the area.
Use loose clothes.
Avoid hot and humid atmosphere.
