What Causes Irregular Periods?

Hi all.. just needing some advice in here. I have an irregular cycle which can go up to 35 to 38 days lately. The first day of my last period was 1st Aug 2016. Waited for 2 months and no periods and so i took the hpt in which I got a faint positive. Went to the doc and could not see anything on the scan except for thick linings and ovulation occured. Doc ordered a hcg which was positive w a reading of 57. Qn is would I have ovulated in Sept despite missig my periods?

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Eating disorders, like anorexia and bulimia. Excessive weight gain or weight loss; extreme thinness and obesity both cause your menstrual cycle to become irregular or even to disappear. Stress or emotional problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
