Irregular periods in your case can have diverse causes.
But the most important ones are the ovarian and infection causes.
Hence you require a screening for the same.
Foremost runner of irregular periods is
Polycystic ovarian disease.
For this I advise you to get a transvaginal ultrasonography/TVS for confirmation.
Short term course of
oral contraceptive pills are usually precribed by your Gynecologist to regularize your periods.
Once periods are regularized you can predict the ovulatory dates and know the fertile phase of your cycle.
Once this is met out, you can participate in coitus with your husband for successful regannacy outcome.
Ovulation date can be accurately assessed by serial ultraound monitiring of the ovarian follicular size as well by serum FSH stdy on day 21 of the cycle.
Hence having a TVS is the ultimate next step in your case.
