General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear thanks for choosing HCM.

Don't worry, it is a physiological process. Breast feeding inhibits ovulation in women, this results in absence of periods. That is why breast feeding acts as a contraception.

First period after prolonged break is always heavy, so don't worry. For few months periods will be irregular. By 2 to 3 months she will start having regular periods.
Meanwhile start using contraceptives if you are not planning pregnancy.

I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write to HCM for follow up queries. Hit a thanks. Thank you. I wish you and your family good health.
