What Causes Irregular Menstruation Post Depo-Provera Injection?
At the beginning of the month I received the depo provera shot. I was suppose to have my period on the 17th and even experienced the usual cramps I do when I get my period, however there was no blood. Is that normal with the shot or should I be concerned
Depo provera can be associated with a decrease in periods, some women would not have periods at all with the shot.
It is not that the blood is built up within the uterus, it does not collect, it is not formed during that time.
If you decide that you want to conceive then you can discontinue it. In some cases after hormonal conception is discontinued, this or another form, it can take a few weeks to months to period to normalize.
I hope this helps
