What Causes Irregular Menstruation In A 19 Year Old Teenager?

Recently my period has become more irregular. I noticed it started when I went to school this past January, I skipped a period and then the next time I got my period it lasted for 11 days. I once again skipped my period for a month and recently got my period but now it s been going on for 14 days. It isn t as heavy as my normal period but it isn t as light as spotting. I haven t been on birth control and am not sexually active and I m 19.

Menstrual abnormality in young girls is mostly due to hormonal imbalance.
So better to consult gynecologist and get done
1. Clinical examination
2. Hormone levels
3. Ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule out ovary, uterus android fallopian tube related diseases.
You will mostly improve with hormone pills.
Avoid stress and tension because these can also cause menstrual abnormality.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Consult gynecologist and discuss all these.
