What Causes Irregular Menstruation Along With Blood In Stools?

Hi, for the past couple of years I ve been really irregular with my periods I can go 2/3 months without bleeding. I ve also had bright red blood in my stools every time I go toilet, which is only every few days or even once a week! Is this related? Also what could it be? Thanks

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Consult gynecologist and gastroenterologist ass son as possible.

Following are the cause of irregular menstruation
1. Hormonal imbalance
2. Depression
3. Excessive weight gain and weight loss
4. PCOS
5. Endometriosis
6. Thyroid problem
7. Pelvic inflammatory disease.
8. Diabetes, tubeculosiss
9. Excessive smoking and alcohol

Following are the causes of blood in stool:
1. chronic Constipation
2. Infammatory bowel disease: Crohns disease and ulcerative colitid
3. Dysentery
4. Piles, fissures
5. Cancer of GI tract
6. Blood disorder


Consult the gynecologist and gastroenterologist
Go the following test
1. Pelvic examination
2. USG abdomen
3. Hormone profile: LH,FSH, Estrogen, Progesterone, thyroid profile, prolactin
4. Blood test: CBC, TLC,DLC,ESR, BT, CT
5. Urine routine and microscopic examination
6. PAP smear, endometrium biopsy, ovarian follicle study

Treatment are as follow:
1.Limit caffeine, salt and nicotine from a few days before your period until two weeks after it
2. Healthy lifestyle
3 Stretching and regular exercise routines will reduce cramping and menstrual pain.
4. Yoga can be extremely helpful to reduce both the physical and mental symptoms
5. Massage can also help both physical and emotional symptoms. also relieve depression, anxiety and panic attacks.
6. Hot baths help with cramping, back pain and relaxation.
7. Sleep of atleast 8 hours
8. Maintain hygiene in pelvic area,wear loose pure cotton underwear.
