What Causes Irregular Heart Beat?

my five year old grandson fell over and hit his cheek whilst being treated in hospital they discovered his pulse rate was only 60 after an ecg they said he had an irregular heartbeat he has now been refered the next day his heartbeat had gone up to 79 another ecg still showed anirregularity he is very active and does not complain what are the possible causes

Hi...by what you quote I feel that your kid might be having a heart block. Mild increase in heart rate does not rule out this disorder. What he needs is a Holter or 24 hour ECG monitoring and an echo cardiogram. I suggest you consult a pediatric cardiologist regarding this.
