What Causes Irregular Heart Beat And Chest Tightness?

I have an irregular heart beat, have had many tests and the cardiologist says that there is nothing wrong with my heart. I have the symptoms for 3 days, then they go for three days? The Dr. Said that my holter monotor showed lots of skipped beats, but I don t have true arrithmea. There isn t much they can do bit give me drugs to mask the problem. I feel a tigthness in my chest, upset stomach, headache, can really feel every beat of my heart, have it for 3 days, with the last of the 3 days, the symptoms being less. Then for 3 days I feel great, not an ache orain. I am a female, 71 yrs, have had these for a year and a half.

Dear , i can understand your concern .
I would like to inform you that yes your physician and cardiologist are right .
Most of the time missed or escape beat need no treatment if are in isolation . We treat them only when if they are causing sufficient troublesome symptoms . Some times we can get some reasons for missed beats. This may be in heart or in lungs.
It may be because of hyperthyroidism or anxiety . Some times may be because of excessive intake of caffeine containing drinks .
No need to worry about that.If they are causing trouble to you , then discuss with your physician he will prescribe you few medicines to suppress them.
Hope this will help you . Thanks for contacting HCM .
