What Causes Irregular Dark Menstrual Bleeding?

Lately my period has been very irregular. It started on January 1st. I was off my period for about a week then on January 1st I had heavy bleeding. I went on a pad and the next morning I woke up and there was no blood. I was clear of blood until January 28th but I wasn t worried about that because that s usually when my period starts. I am now worried because my January 28th period ended February 4th but for the last couple of days I have been having a very dark brown substance that resembles period blood but it s just super weird because I just got off my period. Is there a reason my period seems like it has no precise pattern.

Hi,

Polyps or fibroids usually causes irregular bleeding. Irregular bleeding & dark coloured menstrual blood also occurs due to the intake of birth control pills due to hormonal changes, its normal no worries.

Infection(Chlamydia, Gonorrhea), PID, pregnancy or pre-menopause. Get physically examined, get CBC, USG, Thyroid function tests, STD tests done. You may need hormone therapy to regularize your menstrual cycle.
