What Causes Involuntary Bowel Movement While Sleeping?

I am a 39 yo Male, 6' tall and in good health. Lately I have had an accidental bowel release while sleeping. Mind you it wasnt a full bowel movement and it occured after a night of drinking. What bothers me is that I didnt wake up. This has never happened to me in all of my adult years. Is it possible for a healthy adult to have this sort of accident as a result of involuntarily passing gas while sleeping?

I really appreciate your concern, yes it is pretty common condition and it is not the sign of any illness but due to dyspepsia and formation of flatus, while passing the flatus it is some time happens that the rectum filled with fecal material comes out and it may not be noticed, if the thing goes on happening on and often then it demands the medical attention but it is seldom happens, if this is so then most likely condition or common condition could be intestinal infection or inflammatory disease, hope this information helps.
