What Causes Intermittent Pain And Sprain In The Knees Long After Meniscal Injury?

I had a work related injury in 1983 which required a reconstructive surgery of the ACL in the right knee, 2001. I tore the medial and lateral meniscus of then right knee also, WCB accepted the meniscal tears. I returned to work in 2006 I had another twisting episode of the right knee a sprain or strain, with some time off work I retuned to work . In 2008 and 2010 my left knee started experiencing pain, I had a twisting episode of the left knee in 2012 most likely a partial tear, with extra pain medication I continued to work on two defunct knees, In 2013 I tore the medial and lateral meniscus of the left knee and I have not been able to work at any job since. I eventually underwent two Total Knee Replacements because of severe OA. WCB is only accepting responsibility of the right knee only. I am trying to draw the conclusion that the left knee and right are directly related to the original injury and be accepted in the in any entitlements accepted under this claim.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
