What Causes Intermittent Headaches Despite Taking Advil?

Hello, my name is Almar Dankha and I m 20 years old. For about a month now I ve been experiencing headaches that come and go. Mostly on the left side of my head. I m currently experiencing one but it s not too intense since it has calmed down a bit. The headaches do not wake me up at night, I don t vomit, I don t feel weakness anywhere and my speech is good. I went to the family physician and he told me to take Advil Migranes for now. This is my second day taking them and I don t feel any different than I did about a month ago. These headaches come shortly and go. Some days I would experience them throughout the day. Can you please help and let me know what possibly can be going on? Because I m really worried. Thank You

dear friend

if you have migraine there are better and faster acting drugs available for the condition to treat an acute episode and there are drugs which can increase the interval between two episodes,
to start with we need to discuss about the headache itself to correctly diagnose its cause
please provide following information

1, it the headache preceded with an aura , by which it is meant do you have some visual, or any other symptoms which warn you of an imminent headache?
2. is the headache always one sided and on the same side?
3. is it throbbing in character?
4. how severe is it on a scale of 1-9?
5. do you have aversion to light, sound, etc.?
6. is it associated with nausea with or without vomiting?
7. how frequent is the headache? does it have a trigger or any relation to any activity, food, menstrual cycle in case of female, television viewing etc?

once we have answer to these questions we may be able to place the reason for the headache,
also if any MRI/CT scan has been done share the findings.
following which a detailed suggestion can be made for the management of the headache. please be advised that the suggested medication will be all prescription drugs for which you will have to visit a headache or pain specialist and get a prescription, but if you are clear about your condition it will help the treating doctor too to reach to the correct conclusion and treat you more appropriately.
