What Causes Intermittent Electrical Shock Sensation In Chest Along With Shoulder Pain?
Several weeks ago i was working and had 3 episodes in a short period of time that felt like electrical shock in my chest. The last on got my heart to racing so they took me to tje ER. Once i was there, ekg blood work and xray checked out fine. I have been experiencing chect discomfort(no particular point) as well as left arm and shoulder pain. About a week ago I was in Walmart and had another episode. I ended up in ER yet again and everything checked out normal. Since I have had a stress test and echocardiogram that came back normal. I have been wearing an event monitor that goes of many times a day. I continue to have moderate chest discomfort and arm pain. My doc recieved one reading that showed ventrical tachecardia. He suggest having a catheter ablasion. I was amazed that he suggested a procedure before meds..(this was the first time he saw me) ...should i seek a second opinion? Do i need this procedure?
Hello, Welcome to HCM. Ventricular tachycardia may be due to reentry or abnormal focus of ap. Now the best treatment and also specific one is catheter ablation of aberrant pathway.. Also drug treatment is there class 1b aantiarrythmics are used..but when you have the specific management why will you go for drug treatment.. Hope this is helpful..
