What Causes Intermittent And Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding While On Implanon?

Hi, I have a question. I had the implant (rod) put in my arm 2 years ago now, just in the last four months my menstrual cycle has been a bit whack. It will come for about 10 days then leave for about 3 days and last a week, it s completely different everytime. I went to the doctor two weeks ago and got the contraceptive pill to regulate it but now two weeks later I ve been bleeding still for 15 days straight so I went to the doctor yesterday to get the implant taken out and there is still no change in my flow and I m worried to as how long I ll bleed for?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The time period for bleeding can vary but your doctor can give your medication to decrease the bleeding.
Medication such as primolut can be used to stop the bleeding.

After that point, you can try an alternative contraceptive to help regularize your period.

I hope this helps
