What Causes Intense Tingling Sensation In Penis And Burning Sensation During Urination?

Hello. I am 19 years old and about 2 and a half months ago i noticed an intense tingling in my penis and a very strong burn when I urinate. I went to a team doctor (i play ice hockey) and from my symptoms he prescribed be azithromycin (4/250mg pills) right away to take all at once. The tingling mostly went away but i still had burning when i urinate. I then went to the clinic and took a urine test. It came back positive for chlamydia. He prescribed be Levofloxacin (i forget the dosage). The burning persisted. He then prescribed me another dosage of azithromycin. It still burned while i urinated. At the same time, i noticed red pimple like bumps on my inner thigh which had been around for about a month. I went to a dermatologist and he had no hesitation and said it was molloscum contagiousus right away and treated them. Also, i noticed painful irritation in my anus that the doctor looked at and said i should be fine to just by hydrocortisone cream and apply it to it and that it can take awhile but it will eventually go away. Its been about 2 and a half months and its still a little bit irritated but much less than it was. At the same time i still felt burning while i was urinating but it was extremely mild so i didnt do anything. After about a month of no treatment or anything i got intense soreness in my testicles so i went to a different doctor and he prescribed me doxycline and also urine tested me to see if i still had chlamydia. Tests came back negative and the soreness in my testicles went away with the meds in about 3 days. Although, i still have pain when i urinate and its been about 3 months. They finally told me to go to a urologist that i have to schedule an appointment for. What could this be? Is it possible i have herpes? Uti? I havent had to pee at any abnormal rate thats why im really nervous it could be herpes.. PLEASE help me out.

Hi,

You appear to have 2 main infections viz, chlamydia and Molluscum contagiosum. The red bumps appear to be due to a viral infection and is called Molluscum contagiosum which is treated by potassium hydroxide solution applied locally. There are other modalities also available like cryotherapy and laser treatment.

The treatment given for chlamydia is fine and the drugs like azithromycin and doxycycline are fine. The remaining symptom of burning sensation could be due to the chlamydia infection only however you need to be evaluated further to rule out any other concomitant infection like UTI. Pl get a urine culture test done. Pl ensure that your are not on any antibiotic while giving sample and also few days before the test. Soreness of testicles also is due to chlamydia.

You further need to get other sexually transmitted disease ruled out as the disease you have acquired are transmitted sexually. Pl get your partner also tested and treated if found positive for these. Herpes appears like blisters over skin with sharp burning pain and doesn't seem to be in your case with the description provided by you. Drink plenty of water to reduce the burning sensation while urinating. You can also use Alkasol syrup for relief of these symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
