What Causes Intense Pain On Elbow And Upper Forearm?

Less than 24 hours ago, I fell violently off of my bicycle. I landed directly down on the back of my left hand with my arm in a vertical angle. I have mild soreness in my wrist but I have intense pain in my elbow and upper forearm. I have no swelling and no bruising. My question is, do I likely have a broken bone or is it simply and bad sprain with nerve damage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to to the injury of the elbow.
I suggest to do an x-ray of the elbow to exclude fracture.
Meanwhile, you can use anti-inflammatory medications to relieve the pain.
I also suggest to rest and maintain the area elevated and immobilized.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
