What Causes Insomnia While Suffering From Diabetes And Hypertension?

I have been having trouble sleeping. Last night I woke up 3 hours earlier than normal. I could not go back to sleep. I sat up and read for 3 hours then got ready for work. I have an hour commute and half way thru the commute I had to stop and sleep in my truck for 2 hours. I have am extremely tired and have the worst indigestion I have ever had. I had a normal breakfast, oatmeal, and could not eat lunch. I have been taking antacids all day long and they do not help much. I am 55 years old, diabetic, with hypertension and am obese. Should I go to an urgent care?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
I don't think there is a reason to go to urgent care. I think this insomnia is not related to diabetes or hypertension. It may be related to psychological causes.
Keep your sugar levels and blood pressure levels in range and monitor them.
Use chamomile tea to help with indigestion and calming.
Also use probiotics for indigestion.
Add physical activity to your routine.
Also can consult a dietitian to lose weight.
It will help you stabilize diabetes, blood pressure and insomnia.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
