What Causes Insomnia And Dizziness After Taking Trazodone?
Hi, my Dr. Suggested I stop my sleeping pill from Temazapam to an antidepressant called TraZODone 100mg. I can t sleep, I m so tired and it s getting depressing. He said first to take them together, I did and it was bad, I m sore all over and dizzy in morning. Any suggestions?

It is due to side effect of Trazadone. Trazodone is an antidepressant which is used to treat major depression. Its most common side effects include blurred vision, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, confusion, increased heart beats, and insomnia.
Using Temazepam along with Trazodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. It may also cause impairment in thinking, judgement, and motor coordination which may result in falls and injuries.
You should avoid taking these medications together. To overcome these harmful interaction you may take Trazodone in the morning and Temazepam at bedtime so as to have an adequate sleep. You should also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving.
