What Causes Insomnia Along With Anxiety Attacks?

I am having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep for the past two months. This came out of no where one night. Each night that I can t sleep, I start to get anxiety. I have never had sleeping issues before. What is happening? What test should I ask my doctor to perform?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are certain sleep hygiene techniques that may be helpful for you , all of the techniques are available online. One of the techniques involves getting out of bed if 20 mins have passed and not sleeping.
It is said that this subconsciously teaches the brain that the bed is not for sleep.

Should get out for 10 to 15 mins, do something relaxing and go back to bed.

You can try this and the other techniques to see if they help.

Your doctor may need to review if there is any physical complaint (eg pain ) or psychological reason for difficulty sleeping (depression or anxiety).
There are medications that may help, since you are anxious, your doctor may choose a medication to reduce your anxiety and help with sleep eg xanax, lorazepam

I hope this helps
