What Causes Inflammation Of The Sternum?

I went to the emergency dept of my local hospital with terrible pains after running several tests to rule heart issues I was told it was an inflammation of the sternum. I was given an injection of torodol and sent home I have been taking Aleve since the torodol wore off but the pain is still severe. What else can I do at home? Oh I tried rubbing with Emujel Voltaren also

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Inflammation of the sternum is a peculiar diagnosis, I have never heard of it before. It sounds more like muscle pain, and it will go away in due course.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
