What Causes Inflammation In The Gum?

please i am having an inflammed gum, without even eating anything at times i just taste blood ,when i go to the mirror i see blood coming from my gum,my dentist here in nigeria have done nothing to help, the always recommend i go for scaling ,i guddle with hydrogen-daroxide and warm water.it just a waste of my money cause i dont even have plague on my teeths, and i dont feel any pain in my gum but its swollen. but i noticed that some years back, when i was tring for a baby,i was given some anti-biotics cause the doc said i had staph, though i cant remember the type and for the first time in years of inflammed gum it seized for up to 3 months but soo unfortunate its back, please i dont want to loose my teeths, help,God bless DR

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Many a times inflamed gum can occur due to deep accumulation of tartar and plaque that is deep on the roots of teeth that is subgingival area..
It is not visible with naked eye but can cause infection and inflammation of gum which in-turn produce symptoms like gum bleeding and swollen gum..
Many a times gum swelling can be a side effect of any medicine intake or hormonal imbalances..
So first of all get a deep scaling and currettage done followed by a short script of antibiotics like Metronidazole and do antiseptic gum paint massage..
Do warm saline gargles and also antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
Hopefully the gum swelling will get better..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
