What Causes Inflammation In The Cornea And Blurred Vision?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...my friend's son has a eye infection of the cornea and the doctor is treating him with drops to reduce inflammation. He has a pressure of 21 on that affected eye and the doctor says he has coxsackie virus that causes it. That eye has a blur vision. This has been going on for 6 mths. Is that possible for him to have that virus for that long and should my friend get a second opinion.

Viruses are known to stay inherent in their foci for long long years... They don't die with treatment but just get dormant for time being and then flare up again in immuno compromised states...like fever, patient on oral steroids...
So it may be possible but manifestations do subside soon... N recur lately again in most cases... So 6 months is pretty long time...
Eye is such an organ one can't comment much without examination, so I suggest a second opinion that too from CORNEA FELLOW ( superspecialist in cornea ) that too from a renowned institute...
