What Causes Inflammation And Pain In The Thumb And Palm?

I am 55, female, in good physical condition for the most part. I practice Yoga 7 mornings a week for 25 minutes - the Tibetan 5. The challenge I am having is that my hands, mainly the first finger and thumb area and palm around the thumb area has increasing amount of pain. My left hip also hurts a great amount of the time. My hands get hot and red. I typically get up at 5:00 am, feed my pets and work out, by noon my hands are hurting and sometimes hip. I am on no medication, only vitamins.

Hello,

It could be hand space infection.

Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Generally, it will settle with antibiotics.

In severe cases, surgical drainage is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
