What Causes Infection Around An Ear Piercing?

It s been about a month or two since I got my ear pierced. Today, I noticed a crust around the piercing, despite cleaning it 3 times a day as I was instructed to do by my piercer. When I cleaned with a q-tip, a yellowish pus came out. There wasn t a lot of it but it did surprise me a bit. The lobe is slightly swollen but is not painful or sore. However, like when I first got it pierced, I feel dizzy after cleaning it with a Q-tip, though I attribute this to the piercing just being a foreign object and disturbing it with the q-tip even slightly set me off. I feel normal otherwise. So my question is, should I be worried about this pus? While I say it s yellowish, it s a light color and not darker yellow/green.

Hello
Thanks for the query.
There is a possibility that some foreign material has remained under your skin while piercing.
This might have led to formation of abscess.
Meet a dermatologist and get yourself examined.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
