had a colonoscopy, within two days started having intense indigestion or pains in upper abdomen, relief for a couple of days, then more, relief for a couple of days then a major problem, to emergency, then diagnosed with infected gallbladder. Seems like this is connected?

Hi, gall bladder infections are not reported after a Colonoscopy.
though it is seen sometimes with upper GI endoscopy, but it is not known as a complication of Colonoscopy.
It is just an incidental infection of gall bladder after your colonoscopy.
A gall bladder infection results in less bile being released in intestine, which in turn results in incomplete digestion of food, especially fat.
It is advised to reduce fat in diet till the bladder infection is cured. Increase carbohydrates in diet as they are easy to digest.
A course of antibiotics along with anti acidity drugs and pain killers may be needed.

Hope this answers your question. Thank you.
