What Causes Indentations In Head?

concerned that I have just found an indentation on the top of my head, on the top to the left side, it feels as though in between the indentions the area may be swollen, I did not hit my head, I am not having a headache or anything else, just concerned what this ay be, I m 42 year old female is relatively good health

Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.

Indentations in the head may be caused by different types of disorders affecting the soft tissues, the bones of the skull or the meninges ( brain layers). The cause may be a tumor, inflammation or infection.
Sometimes vitamin D deficiency and low plasma levels of calcium have been associated with indentation from bone changes.

I would recommend you to consult with your GP, have a careful physical examination, a scull xray, routine blood test, vitamin D and calcium plasma levels, Lactate dehydrogenase.

A brain CT scan may be needed to examine the anatomy of the lesion better.
