What Causes Increased Heart Rate While On Thyroid Medication?
I am 28 years old, female. I was diagnose hypothryoid april 8th with TSH of 7.6 and antibodies of 238. Doc put me on synthroid .50 mcg and now this week I went to the emergency room with fast heart rate and just felt bad! I was low on pottassium due to diahrrea and my tsh was .66. So I went from hypo to hyper. I have had 3 normal ekgs and 2 clear chest xrays. But I still have anxiety about my heart. I just want a doctor to say your heart is great, its the thyroid causing you trouble. Any suggestions would be helpful.
it is most likely that your high heart rate is due to hyperthyroidism. stop the drug. you should be better in a week . don't worry. recheck your thyroid profile after 3months.
