What Causes Increased Heart Rate While Doing Exercise?
56 year old type 2 223 lbs started working out at gym try to burn 1200 cal every day blood pressure witout meds is 138/82 after excersice 135/71 is this normal also I have been hitting pulse rate up to 170 while doing cardio is this ok
Regarding your concern, I would explain that these changes in blood pressure and heart rate values are quite normal.
They are related to a physiological reaction, which causes the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, leading to increased circulating levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. These hormones lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure values.
Besides, these heart rate values are quite normal, during physical straining, considering your age.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
