What Causes Increased Anxiety And Appetite Loss When On Cipralex?

Goodmorning, I started cipralex 5mg 1mth ago and went up to 10mg around 3weeks ago. I am finding that the anxiety is getting way worse and have no appetite. I want to wean off but wondering if I can just stop it abruptly since I haven t been on it very long.

Hello,

I hope you are taking Cipralex as per your doctor’s advice and the change in dose is also suggested by your doctor.

If not then I would advise you to see your doctor and explain the symptoms you are having so that the dose will be adjusted by him.

Loss of appetite is a common side effect seen with the use of this drug. The drug has certain side effects but your doctor has prescribed it for its benefits in your condition.

Although if the restlessness and anxiety are severe then stop taking the medicine and visit your doctor immediately.

If he asks you to continue with it despite the other symptoms then follow his advice as sudden stopping the medicine and not consulting your doctor about it is also not adviced because there can be severe adverse effects seen due to this.

So without panicking, visit your doctor and clear your doubts and follow his advice on the dose change and continuation of medicine.
