What Causes Increase In The PSA Levels While On Bicalutamide And Metformin?

My PSA has risen to 4,5, with a 5 month doubling time. I am presently taking daily: Avodart 0.5mg; Bicalutamide [Casodex] 50mg; Metformin 500mg twice daily; Simvastatin [Zocor]10mg Letrozole [Femara] Should I avoid additional treatment with Lupron, or seek additional radiation treatment ? Phil

Hello,

So a rise in PSA is suggestive of treatment failure. You now require reevaluation followed by a change of therapy including chemotherapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Deepak Sundriyal, Oncologist
