Hi I am Indu, 40 yrs old my TLC count has increased slightly. As per the report it is 10.5 (unit- 10~9/L) and the reference range shows 4.0 - 10.0. My question is 1. Is there any abnormalities?2. What actually is the reason for this increase in TLC? 3. What is to be done next? 4. Am suffering from high thyroid level since 2004. 5. Last one year am having severe pain in my tailbone, one point in my upper spine between the shoulders and one point in my lower spine near the waist. Doctor suggested for MRI. Should I go Mri? Eagarly waiting for your reply Doctor. Thank you. Regards, Indu.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
You have slight increase in TLC(white blood cells) which most commonly shows INFECTION. However there are other causes also like tissue necrosis from infarction, burns, gangrene, etc , metabolic problems like acidosis, chemical intoxication, insect venom & allergic reactions. There are five types of white blood cells & TLC increase usually happens due to increase in single type of White Blood Cell. So you should also go for DLC which shows differential count of each white blood cell & therefore denoting which one of them is raised in count. So that we can tell whats can be your problem more appropriately.
Hoping your query is solved. get well soon.
