Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Inability To Sleep On The Back And Urgent Need To Pee?
I had plasma button turp surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have difficulty sleeping as soon as i turn on my side I get an urgent need to pee. I cannot sleep on my back. Also, every time I pee I have an urge for a bowel movement that does not happen most of the time. What do you recommend for both issues?
The urgent need to pee and bowel movement indicates inflammation at the prostate fossa most likely giving both of the symptoms. In my clinic, I do recommend a urine culture report, ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis as non invasive means of evaluation. Depending upon the results of above, therapy with culture sensitive antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines and urinary alkaliser are prescribed and watch for the symptomatic progress. A handful number of patients do require a diagnostic cystoscopy for evaluation with or without intervention.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
