What Causes Icy Hot Feeling In Abdomen And Headache While Treating Staph Infection?

My daughter is taking an antibiotic and a steroid for a staph infection on her skin (leg). The first day she had dry heaves and a headache, but I think she took her pills on an empty stomach. The second day she described a feeling in her abdomen as icy hot . What could that be? Second question: Her infection is clearing up. It is no longer oozing and the sores are getting dry/crusty. Can she swim yet? pool and/or ocean?

Hello,

If she is not developing any skin redness or rash, she will just need to be observed. If she gets skin rash then very likely she is developing an allergy to the treatment.
As for swimming while the lesions have not completely healed, I would advise her to not swim as the skin, even though it is not infected, it is still lacerated. This means that the barrier function of the skin is not restored and the lesions may get infected again.
