Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My face suddenly goes extremely hot and read for no apparent reason. I am well over menopause and have had a lung check as my doctor said it could be a lung problem for some unknown reason! What can I take or do to calm the face down when this happens
It is normal for women in menopause to get these hot flashes. They can be really uncomfortable and embarrassing. It is good you had tests to rule out other causes of hot flashes. Did you also check your thyroid levels? Just to make sure the thyroid functions well. To help with the symptoms you will need to commit to a healthy lifestyle such as a healthy diet, being active and avoiding smoking, alcohol, caffeine, etc.
There are also drugs that can be taken to help you feel better such as HRT and you will need a doctor's visit to access these.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
