What Causes High Temperature, Major Sweats, Headache And Sensitive Skin?

My husband has a high temperature, major sweats, headache, sensitive skin on his head & back overthe past 2 days. We are currently in Ghana. I tested him for malaria utilising a text kit - negative result. His urine was whisky coloured. Please advise.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your husband's symptoms seem to be related to an infection.

Hepatitis can not be excluded either, considering the color of his urine. What about his stool?

I would recommend performing further tests to investigate for the possible causes:

- kidney and liver function tests
- a blood bacterial culture
- a urine bacterial culture
- a chest X ray study.

You should discuss with his doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
