What Causes High Level Of Ferritin With Thalassemia Intermedia?

I have thalassemia intermedia. Two years I was diagnosed with hemotolic anemia and an enlarged spleen. I opt not to have it removed. last month my liver enzymes were elevated. last week my Dr. ran mutiple blood tests. My liver enzymes were lower, my hemoglobin was 9.8 which is higher than it has been in the last few years but my ferritin level was over a thousand so they want me to see someone that specilizes in this. Do I need to be concerned?

Hematologist 's  Response
Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You may have iron overload or hemophagocytic syndrom. It causes high ferritine level. So you should consult haematologist and investigate further and then take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer.
Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you a very good health.
